Class of 2007: Athlete
When this ice dance team came together in 1991, it was not long before their innovative and unique style would lead them to the top of the podium, and into the hearts of their many fans. Crowned the 1992 Canadian Junior champions, they claimed their first of 10 Canadian Senior titles in 1993. Truly ‘magic on ice’, their amazing edge qualities, combined with spectacular footwork, and their signature hydroblading technique, saw them enjoy a record setting career that set the standard for others to follow.
Four time world bronze medallists from 1996-99, and silver medallists in 2002, they capped off their incredible career by becoming the first North American ice dance team ever to capture the world championship title, doing so at the 2003 ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
Three-time Olympians, they placed 10th in their first appearance at the Games in 1994, and finished just off the podium with fourth place finishes in both 1998 and 2002.
Retiring from the amateur ranks following the 2003 season, they both remained involved in skating, with Shae-Lynn enjoying a successful professional and coaching career and Victor serving as an Ice Dance Director at the BC Centre of Excellence, passing on their knowledge to the next generation of ice dancers.
Inducted into the Skate Canada Hall of Fame 2007.
