A not-for-profit organization, Skate Canada is the oldest and largest figure skating organization in the world

Skate Canada’s Board of Directors is made up of 12 elected and appointed volunteers from across Canada.

OUR SECTIONS

To make organization and administration easier, Skate Canada is divided into 10 Sections equivalent to the Canadian provinces.

The story of Skate Canada, one of the strongest and stablest figure skating bodies in the world, continues as it has for over a century through the 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.

HISTORY

The Amateur Skating Association of Canada was formed in 1887 and by 1914 a separate organization for figure skating had been established. This was known as the Figure Skating Department of the Amateur Skating Association of Canada.

HALL OF FAME

Since 1990, The Skate Canada Hall of Fame has been paying tribute to athletes, coaches, builders, officials and professionals who have made a significant impact on Canadian figure skating.

ALUMNI

Skate Canada is encouraging all retired skaters (and their coaches) that competed in Canadian Championships, International events and National Team members to register for the Skate Canada Alumni group.

SKATE CANADA FUND

In the fall of 2015, Skate Canada developed the Skate Canada Fund, inspired by a grant given by the Canadian Olympic Committee to assist national sport organizations in attaining community financial support.
