Skate Canada names Dr. Shae Zukiwsky as Senior Director, Performance Excellence
Skate Canada is pleased to announce that Dr. Shae Zukiwsky has joined the organization in the role of Senior Director, Performance Excellence effective February 25, 2019. Dr. Zukiwsky brings an impressive combination of skills and experience that will enhance Skate Canada’s high performance and development programs and add tremendous value to the team as we pursue the Learn to Compete objectives of our Long-Term Athlete Development model and the Skate to Win objectives of the 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.
Dr. Zukiwsky received his Doctor of Philosophy from York University in 2017 and is a former Skate Canada Senior National Team member with ice dance partner Judith Longpre. He has been an ISU technical specialist in ice dance for over a decade and has been a choreographer for Olympic, world, and junior world competitors working in the disciplines of ice dance, singles, pairs and synchronized skating. Shae was the appointed Athlete Representative to the Skate Canada Board of Directors from 2009 – 2014 and was elected to the Skate Canada Board of Directors in 2016.
Mike Slipchuk and Andre Bourgeois will continue in their existing roles as High Performance Director and Next Gen Director and report directly to Dr. Zukiwsky.
