Esteemed coach Manon Perron enters the Skate Canada Hall of Fame in the Professional category.
Manon Perron, originally from Thetford Mines, Québec, coached figure skating for over 30 years with tremendous success producing podium athletes at all levels – from Sectional, to National, to International, to World and to the Olympic Winter Games. Perron has a reputation for dedication, mentorship and leadership in all that she does, attributes that were most evident as she coached Joannie Rochette to the Olympic bronze medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games following the tragic passing of Rochette’s mother.
Among other things, she acted as an Advisor to Skate Canada’s Next Gen and High Performance programs for many years, was a leader in Skate Canada’s coach mentorship program, was the Team Leader for Canada’s National Figure Skating Team at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games and has been an active seminar leader nationally and internationally. Perron has also been a member of Skate Canada Operating Committees including the High Performance Development Committee.
Perron is the recipient of numerous awards over her career. She was the first recipient of the GM Making Dreams Possible elite coaching award, a three-time recipient of Skate Canada’s Competitive Coach of Excellence Award and the recipient of the Geoff Gowan “Lifetime Achievement” Award in 2018.
