OTTAWA, ON (Sept. 2, 2026) – The ISU Junior Grand Prix Series (JGP) continues this week in Bangkok, Thailand, with six Canadians set to take to the ice at the third event of the series. Taking place from Sept. 3-5, Canada will be represented by one entry in the women’s and men’s events, and two ice dance teams. 

Canadian junior women’s champion Lia Cho will make her Junior Grand Prix debut in Bangkok. Competing in her first season internationally as a junior, Cho has already captured gold at the 2026 NextGen Competition and 2026 Cranberry Cup International. The Calgary, Alta., skater has established herself as one of the country’s top athletes, setting the Canadian junior women’s record in back-to-back seasons.  

Canada’s men’s entry, Colton Moness, will also make his JGP debut after emerging as a strong competitor at the junior level. Moness enters the event with momentum after capturing bronze at the NextGen Competition and silver at Cranberry Cup International. He will look to build on those early performances as he continues his season in Bangkok. 

In ice dance, Chaïma Ben Khelifa and Julien Lévesque will compete on the JGP circuit together for the first time, bringing international experience from their previous partnerships. Madeline Breau and Kurtis Che will also make their JGP debut together after winning gold at the Maria Olszewska Memorial last season. Both teams will look to gain experience as they compete against some of the top junior ice dance teams in the world.
