World-Class Lineup Announced for 2026 Skate Canada International in Kelowna
OTTAWA, ON (July 16, 2026) – Some of the biggest names in figure skating are set to take the ice in Kelowna, B.C. this fall, as Skate Canada International returns with a star-studded lineup from around the globe.
Taking place Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, 2026, at Prospera Place, the event will welcome more than 50 top athletes, including Olympians and World medallists, for three days of thrilling competition as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.
There will be a full slate of homegrown talent to cheer for, led by Canadian pairs champions and World bronze medallists Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud. They will be joined in the pairs event by their Canadian counterparts Ava Kemp and Yohnatan Elizarov, the reigning Junior World Champions who will make their senior Grand Prix debut in Kelowna.
The women’s field will feature an exciting mix of established stars and rising talent, including Estonian Niina Petrõkina, the reigning European champion, and American Isabeau Levito, who captured silver at 2025 Skate Canada International. They will face off against Japan’s Mao Shimada, the four-time Junior World Champion who will skate onto the senior Grand Prix circuit for the first time.
The men’s competition will be headlined by Canada’s Stephen Gogolev, who cemented himself among the world’s best last season with a fifth-place finish at the Olympics. Fans can also look forward to performances by France’s Kevin Aymoz and Italy’s Matteo Rizzo, the European silver medallist who earned a bronze medal in the Team Event at the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
Great Britain’s Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, the reigning Grand Prix Final and European bronze medallists, will highlight the ice dance event. They will be competing alongside France’s Evgeniia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissaud and Canada’s Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac, who will also bring their distinctive style and dynamic performances to Kelowna.
As the second stop on the 2026-2027 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, Skate Canada International offers athletes a crucial opportunity to earn points toward qualification for the ISU Grand Prix Final in Chongqing, China, scheduled for Dec. 10-13, 2026.
