Canada’s Top Skaters Named to 2026-2027 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series
OTTAWA, ON (June 16, 2026) – The International Skating Union (ISU) has announced the assignments for the 2026-2027 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, with 19 Canadian skaters selected to compete across the prestigious international circuit this season.
The series features six events held across North America, Europe and Asia between October and November 2026. Canadian skaters from all four disciplines – men, women, pairs and ice dance – will take to the ice at competitions including Grand Prix de France, Skate Canada International, Cup of China, Skate America, Finlandia Trophy, and NHK Trophy.
Among the highlights of the series is 2026 Skate Canada International, to be held at Prospera Place in Kelowna, B.C., from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. As Canada’s premier international figure skating event, the competition will welcome many of the world’s top athletes as they continue their journey toward qualification for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.
Each skater or team can be assigned a maximum of two Grand Prix events, with skaters being awarded points based on their placements. The top six competitors in each discipline at the conclusion of the series will qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, scheduled for December 10-13, 2026, in Chongqing, China.
