Canadian Junior & Advanced Novice Skaters to Compete in Poland This Week

Ottawa, ON (Feb. 24, 2026) – A strong Canadian contingent comprised of junior and advanced novice skaters will be competing at the Maria Olszewska Memorial 2026, taking place in Lodz, Poland from Feb. 24 to March 1. A total of fifteen athletes will be representing the maple leaf in the women’s, men’s, pairs and ice dance categories, with the goal of gaining valuable international experience.   

Junior Canadian champion Lia Cho will headline the Canadian delegation in the women’s advanced novice category, following a record-breaking performance at the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships. She will be joined by Skate Canada Trophy novice gold medallist Téa Hébert, while NextGen Team member Uxia Gonzales-Abraldes will be competing in the junior women’s event. 

Four men will take part in the advanced novice men’s competition, including 2026 Skate Canada Trophy gold and silver medallists, Alexander Ge and Art Tyomkin, as well as Colton Moness and Bowen Yan. 

In pairs, new Canadian novice record holders Marykim Ranzi and Enryck Legault will make their junior international debut after putting out spectacular performances at the 2026 Skate Canada Trophy.   

The team will be completed by Skate Canada Trophy novice gold and silver medallists Florence Beausoleil and Rémi Thibault, as well as Kayleigh Chao and Jonathan Ma. Madelaine Breau and Kurtis Che, who placed sixth at the Skate Canada Challenge, will represent Canada in the junior category.
