Canadian Synchronized Skating Teams Set for February Challenger Events in Europe
OTTAWA, ON (Feb. 3, 2026) – Following a great start to the international synchronized skating season which saw Canadian teams take home five medals, junior and senior teams are once again heading across the pond to compete in several ISU Challenger Series events. These competitions provide valuable international experience and give teams the opportunity to earn precious World Standing Points.
The month will kick off with the Marie Lundmark Trophy, taking place from Feb. 7–8 in Turku, Finland. The senior event will feature 2026 national champions Les Suprêmes, fresh off a gold-medal performance at the Lumière Cup in Eindhoven, who will go face-to-face with fellow Canadian teams Nova and NEXXICE.
On the junior side, Les Suprêmes Junior, who recently placed third at the Lumière Cup, will be joined by national bronze medallists Nova Junior, rounding out a strong Canadian contingent.
Competition will resume the following weekend at the Riga Amber Cup in Riga, Latvia, where Les Suprêmes will be back in action in the senior event. Canadian champions NEXXICE Junior will be vying for a spot on the podium following a fourth-place finish at the U.S. International Classic, while Ice Ignite Junior will be competing internationally for the first time this season.
The Series will wrap up in Budapest, Hungary, at the Budapest Cup, taking place Feb. 21–22. Mozart Cup 2026 gold medallists Gold Ice Junior will look to build on their momentum and contend for another podium finish. They will be joined by Ice Ignite Junior in the junior event.
