Skate Canada Trophy Brings Pre-Novice and Novice Talent to Dartmouth

OTTAWA, ON (Feb. 2, 2026) — Over 200 of Canada’s most prominent pre-novice and novice skaters are set to compete this week as the Skate Canada Trophy returns for its second edition at the RBC Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This national event, taking place from February 5–8, 2026, brings together the former Novice Canadian Championships and Skate Canada Challenge – Pre-Novice/Novice, featuring competition in men, women, pairs, and ice dance, with athletes representing all ten sections.

The competition will showcase up-and-coming talent from across Canada, including last year’s pre-novice champions Mathéo Harvey (men), Amberly Wang (women), Marykim Ranzi and Enryck Legault (pairs), and Kayla Bowman and Logan Bowman (ice dance), who will all be returning to compete at the novice level.

New talent will have the opportunity to shine in the pre-novice competition as skaters across all disciplines attempt to land on the podium at the national level for the first time. The competition will also include a strong local presence, with multiple local athletes representing the St. Margaret’s Skating Club.
