Podium Finish for Nova Senior at U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic

NORWOOD, U.S.A (Feb. 1, 2026) — Nova Senior is headed home from Massachusetts with a medal in hand after competing in the U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic this weekend.

Nova Senior of St-Hubert, Que. came into the free program Saturday sitting in third place (74.70), with NEXXICE Senior of Burlington, Ont. not far behind in fourth (74.40).

Both teams maintained their standing through the free program, with Nova Senior clinching bronze with a free program score of 141.37 and an overall score of 216.07. Finland’s Marigold Ice Unity took gold with an overall score of 221.77; Lexington, Mass.’s Haydenettes claimed silver (217.67).

Team NEXXICE Senior finished fourth overall, scoring 133.36 points in the free program for a total score of 207.86.

“We feel very proud,” said Nova Senior co-captain, Noémie Beaucage. “We showed what we practiced and we’re just hungry for more. A couple of mistakes that we can improve, but we’re proud of what we showed tonight.”

The team now gears up to head to Turku, Finland next week for the final leg of the ISU Challenger Series and with this medal under their belt, they’re headed into the competition with confidence. The same can be said for NEXXICE Senior, according to co-captain Olivia Tworzyanski.

“We’re really excited to get feedback from the judges on everything with both programs,” she said. “We’re just hoping to continue that momentum forward as we work toward our goal of qualifying for the World Championships.”

In the junior category, NEXXICE Junior of Burlington, Ont. came into the free program Saturday sitting in third place (72.96) and Nova Junior of St-Hubert, Que. were not far behind in fifth place (66.14).

Ultimately, both teams would fall short of the podium in this competition. NEXXICE Junior finished fourth overall, scoring 107.36 in the free program after a handful of deductions for a total score of 180.32.

“We had some unfortunate falls but in the areas that were clean, I thought they were really strong and we brought the energy that we were trying to,” captain Sadie Denham said after their free.

Nova Junior finished sixth overall, scoring 108.65 in the free program and 174.79 overall.

On the podium, it was a clean sweep for the United States on home soil. Teams Elite Junior of Northbrook, Ill. earned gold with 214.25 points. Second and third went to Skyliners Junior of New York, N.Y. (196.73) and Lexettes Junior of Lexington, Mass. (184.13), respectively.

“Today’s performance was not exactly how we wanted to do,” explained Nova Junior co-captain Juliette Denis. “There were some mistakes here and there. But I think that we can still be very proud of what we’ve done.”
