Sadovsky Finishes Ninth on the Final Day of the ISU Four Continents Championships
BEIJING, CHINA (January 25, 2026) – Canada’s Roman Sadovsky (Vaughan, Ont.) scored Canada’s top result in the men’s field to finish in ninth place after the men’s free program on the final day of the 2026 ISU Four Continents Championships in Beijing, China. The 2026 national silver medallist received 153.52 points for an overall score of 233.51.
“I had some uncharacteristic mistakes. I haven’t missed a triple axel in the long program all season, so it was a weird one. But overall, I am pleased with both skates,” said Sadovsky.
In a close battle of 2026 Olympic Winter Games-bound athletes, Japan’s Kao Miura (273.73 points) edged Korea’s Junhwan Cha (273.62) by just 0.11 points to win gold. Sota Yamamoto of Japan completed the men’s podium.
Wesley Chiu (Richmond, B.C.), returning to international competition after an injury last season, climbed up to 12th place with a total score of 220.31. Aleksa Rakic (Burnaby, B.C.) finished in 14th (213.18).
“Overall, I think it went pretty well. Obviously, it was tough, and a lot of kind of wonky landings. But I tried to maximize every part,” said Chiu. “I am proud of the work I put in leading up to this event and I think it showed with how hard I was able to fight today.”
Canada finishes the competition with top-10 placements in all four events. The complete results for the ISU Four Continents Championships are available here.
