BEIJING, CHINA (January 23, 2026) – Two-time national bronze medallists Alicia Fabbri (Terrebonne, Que.) and Paul Ayer (Brossard, Que.) had Canada’s best result on day two of the 2026 ISU Four Continents Championships in Beijing, China.

The team placed fifth in the free dance (110.29) to complete the competition in fourth place overall with 183.49 points.

“I felt really good today,” said Fabbri. “The moment I got here, I was super motivated.  I think we put in two great performances and got two season’s best scores.”

American teams swept the podium, with Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, Caroline Green and Michael Parsons and Oona Brown and Gage Brown winning gold, silver and bronze respectively.

Lily Hensen (London, Ont.) and Nathan Lickers (Six Nation Territories of the Grand River, Ont.) received 101.60 in the free dance to place eight overall, while Jamie Fournier (Montreal, Que.) and Everest Zhu (Waterloo, Ont.) scored 90.27 to finish in 13th with 134 points.

Two-time Olympian Gabrielle Daleman (Newmarket, Ont.) continued her return to competition with a 10th place free skate (115.78) to finish the competition ranked seventh in the women’s event (183.47).

“I am just happy to be back,” said Daleman. “At the end of the day, I didn’t give up. This is my second international in four and a half years, so I’m very happy with the way I handled everything. I am just happy to have the experience again. I was just coming here to get back to a championship and being under very bright lights. I am not used to that.”

It was a podium sweep in the women’s event for Japanese skaters as Yuna Akoi claimed her first Four Continents Championships title, while her teammates Ami Nakai and Mone Chiba finished second and third.
