Sixteen Canadian Athletes Launch the 2026 International Competition Season at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
OTTAWA, ON (Jan. 19, 2026) – Veterans and newcomers alike will be travelling to Beijing, China from January 21-25, 2026 to take part in the 2026 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, which will exceptionally take place earlier this year due to the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games. While some athletes will be looking to gain valuable international experience, others will have their sights set on the podium.
The team will be led by two-time Olympian and 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships silver medallist, Gabrielle Daleman, who returned to competition this year after dealing with various injuries over the past few seasons. She will be joined by Sara-Maude Dupuis, who recently became the first Canadian woman to land a triple axel in international competition, earning her gold at the PGE Warsaw Cup, as well as Fée Ann Landry.
In the men’s competition, fans will have the opportunity to see two-time national champion and 2025 Cranberry Cup gold medallist Roman Sadovsky back in action, alongside 2025-2026 Skate Canada Challenge champion Wesley Chiu and former junior national champion Aleksa Rakic.
Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Éthier will be among the top contenders in the pairs event, as the 2025 Skate America bronze medallists come off a strong showing at the National Championships, where they finished third. As for two-time Junior Grand Prix Final medallists Ava Kemp and Yohnatan Elizarov, this competition will mark their senior ISU Championship debut.
Canadian ice dance will also be on full display, with two-time national bronze medallists Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer, 2025 Ice Challenge silver medallists Jamie Fournier and Everest Zhu and Lily Hensen and Nathan Lickers completing the team.
