The Skate Canada Challenge serves as the qualifying event for junior and senior athletes to earn entries to the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships, which will take place in Gatineau, Quebec, from Jan. 5–11, 2026. With the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games fast approaching, excitement is building as skaters look to advance toward Nationals. He will be joined in the senior men’s event by national medallists Aleksa Rakic and Wesley Chiu
The senior women’s competition will also see notable national medallists, including Gabrielle Daleman and Kaiya Ruiter who will be contending for a place on the podium. Fresh off the ISU Grand Prix circuit, senior ice dance teams Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac and Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer, are also set to compete.
There will also be rising stars to watch, such as national junior women’s champion and Calgary local Lia Cho, who will return to Challenge to defend the title she earned last season when she first broke the Canadian junior women’s record.
The competition begins on Thursday, Nov. 27, and will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025. Fans are invited to attend and enjoy free admission throughout the event. The event will also be available via livestream on skatecanada.ca.
