23 Canadian Skaters to Compete in Europe this Month
Ottawa, Ont. (Nov. 3, 2025) – 23 Canadian figure skaters are set to compete in International Skating Union (ISU) events in Europe this month.
A large Canadian contingent will start the month in Graz, Austria for the 2025 Icechallenge. Held from Nov. 5-9, the event will feature 19 athletes across all four disciplines. The senior event will see the international senior debut of several Junior Grand Prix medallists, including pair teams Jazmine Desrochers and Kieran Thrasher as well as Ava Kemp and Yohnatan Elizarov, and men’s competitor Grayson Long, along with former Canadian Champions Gabrielle Daleman and Keegan Messing. The athletes will be looking to obtain the ISU qualifying scores to be eligible for consideration for the upcoming Championships season.
Later this month, four Canadian athletes will travel to Warsaw, Poland for the ISU Challenger Series Warsaw Cup, taking place Nov. 19-23. In the pair event, Skate Canada International gold medallists, Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps will look to refine their programs ahead of the Grand Prix Final to be held in Nagoya in December.
They will be joined by Wesley Chiu in the men’s event, who will be making his return to competition after being sidelined due to injury last season. Sara-Maude Dupuis, who became the first Canadian women’s skater to land a triple-axel in international competition earlier this year, will round out the delegation in Poland.
