Canadian Skaters Kick Off ISU Senior Grand Prix Series in France
OTTAWA, ON (Oct. 14, 2025) – The 2025-2026 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series begins this weekend in Angers, France, where four Canadian athletes will compete at the Grand Prix de France taking place from Oct. 17-19. Canada will have one entry in both the pair and ice dance disciplines.
With their sights set on Milano Cortina 2026, national pair champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps will lead the Canadian delegation in France. The team opened their season by taking home gold from the John Nicks Pairs Challenge in September. The 2024 World Champions secured two gold medals on the Grand Prix circuit last year before missing the Final due to illness.
Joining them in Angers are ice dancers Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac, who will enter the competition with strong momentum after their back-to-back medals in the ISU Challenger Series this season. The duo will look to improve on their seventh-place finish at the same event last year.
