Ten Canadian Skaters Head to Poland for Sixth ISU Junior Grand Prix
Ottawa, ON (Sept. 29, 2025) – The ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series continues this week with its sixth stop in Gdansk, Poland from Oct. 1-4, 2025, and Canada is sending ten skaters to challenge for the podium in women’s, men’s, pair, and ice dance.
After securing the gold medal at the first stop of the series in Latvia, ice dancers Layla Veillon and Alexander Brandys will look for glory in Gdańsk in effort to secure a place in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final held in December in Nagoya, Japan.
Canada will also be well-represented in the pair competition, with three teams looking to make their mark. Headlining the Canadian contingent will be JGP Bangkok silver medallists Jazmine Desrochers and Kieran Thrasher and JGP Ankara bronze medallists Julia Quattrocchi and Étienne Lacasse. They will be joined by 2025 novice national silver medallists Ava Cheung and Stephen Lee, who will be making their Junior Grand Prix debut in Gdańsk.
In the men’s event, junior national silver medallist Edward Vasii will look to build on his fifth-place finish at the Challenger Series Cranberry Cup earlier this season. The novice national silver medallist, Hannah Quinn will round out the Canadian delegation in Gdańsk and will make her first appearance on the Junior Grand Prix circuit.
