Summer Homick and Nicholas Buelow Take Bronze at ISU Junior Grand Prix in Baku

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN (Sept. 26, 2025) – Ice dancers Summer Homick (Tillsonburg, Ont.) and Nicholas Buelow (Barrie, Ont.)  continued their strong season on Friday, capturing the bronze medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan. This marks their second consecutive international podium finish, following a bronze earlier this season at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Varese, Italy.

The Canadian duo finished the rhythm dance in third with a personal best of 58.78. They followed with a strong performance in the free dance, scoring 83.60 to finish with a total of 142.38 points to secure the bronze medal.

“There have been several improvements to our programs since the first Junior Grand Prix of the season. We are very proud of our technique, but there is still work to be done. We have been training very hard over the past two weeks,” commented Nicholas Buelow after the competition.

“We wanted to improve technically, and that’s what we managed to do. We wanted to skate like we do in training, while maintaining a positive attitude,” added Summer Homick.

France’s Ambre Perrier Gianesini and Samuel Blanc Klaperman won gold (162.21), ahead of Italy’s Zoe Bianchi and Daniel Basile who earned 149.64 points.

In five Junior Grand Prix events this season, Canadian skaters have won a total of 10 medals.
