Skate Canada Releases Complete 2025-2026 Domestic Events Calendar
OTTAWA, ON (March 31, 2025) – Skate Canada is excited to announce the five competitions that will make up its domestic events calendar for the 2025-2026 season. Events will be held across five provinces, with Dartmouth, Nova Scotia hosting their first Skate Canada event.
The season will kick off with the 2025 Skate Canada International which returns to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the first time since 2001. The competition, which will be held at the SaskTel Centre from October 31 to November 2, 2025, will mark the third stop of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series and will attract some of the top skaters from Canada and around the world.
After three years in Winnipeg, the 2025-2026 Skate Canada Challenge will be moving to the West Coast. The event is set to take place at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex, in Calgary, Alberta, which most recently played host to the 2024 North American International Adult Competition. Held from November 27-30, 2025, the competition will serve as a qualifying event for the National Championships for junior and senior athletes.
The new year will start in exciting fashion as the country’s best junior and senior figure skaters and synchronized skaters converge at Gatineau, Québec’s Slush Puppie Centre for the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships. The competition will take place from January 5-11, 2026, and will serve as the final qualifying event for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
From February 5-8, 2026, Canada’s up-and-coming skaters will compete at the second edition of the Skate Canada Trophy, to be held in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Held at the RBC Centre, the national competition brings together the former Novice Canadian Championships and Skate Canada Challenge – Pre-Novice/Novice events under one umbrella.
The season will wrap up with the 2026 Skate Canada Cup held once again at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex in Waterloo, Ontario from February 27 to March 1, 2026. The Skate Canada Cup will showcase the best of synchronized skating in the novice, gold and open categories.
