China Hosts Canadian Skaters at Seventh ISU Junior Grand Prix

OTTAWA, ON (October 7, 2024) – The seventh ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) event of the season takes place in Wuxi, China from October 9-12, 2024, and seven of Canada’s next generation of skating talent will take to the ice in the men’s, women’s, and ice dance competitions.

Ice dancers Chloe Nguyen and Brendan Giang come into the event fresh off a fourth-place finish at the Bangkok, Thailand JGP in mid-September. They will be joined in the ice dance competition by Victoria and Andrei Carandiuc who will make their first appearance on the JGP circuit this season.

David Bondar and John Kim will compete in the men’s discipline and will be looking to implement lessons learned from the JGP events they competed at earlier this season where they finished seventh (Czechia) and sixth (Turkey) respectively.

Kara Yun will be Canada’s lone entry in the women’s competition as she makes her season debut after finishing seventh at the JGP in Austria last season.
