Eleven Canadian Skaters Head to Poland for ISU Junior Grand Prix
OTTAWA, ON (September 23, 2024) – The ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit continues this week with its fifth stop in Gdansk, Poland from September 25-28, 2024, and Canada is sending a full team of skaters to challenge for the podium.
Headlining the team are pair skaters Julia Quattrocchi and Simon Desmarais who are fresh off their bronze medal performance at the Junior Grand Prix (JGP) in Ostrava, Czechia in early September. They will be joined in the pair competition by Noémie Rolland and Étienne Lacasse who will be making their series debut.
Lulu Lin will be looking to move up into a podium position in the women’s competition after she finished fourth at the first JGP stop in Riga, Latvia. Anthony Paradis finished eighth at that same competition in the men’s discipline – he too will be looking to move up the rankings in Gdansk. Joining Paradis in the men’s competition is Edward Vasii who is returning to competition after sitting out last season due to injury.
Rounding out Team Canada are ice dancers Sandrine Gauthier and Quentin Thieren, who finished fifth at the Latvian JPG, and Summer Homick and Nicholas Buelow.
