Canadian Junior Champion in 2015, Nicolas had a successful season on the junior circuit in 2015-2016. He won silver at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Croatia, and also won silver at the 2016 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Nicolas placed fifth at the Canadian championships, earning him his first- berth on the national team. He skates out of Rosèmere, Que., and has been coached by Yvan Desjardins since 2011.
