Prince George FSC – Club Coach

The Prince George Figure Skating Club (PGFSC) is a progressive club located in Prince George BC and is looking to welcome a positive enthusiastic new member with a passion for coaching to our coaching team in a permanent part-time or contract position. The successful candidate must have some competitive experience either coaching and/or competing, be supportive of team coaching and be prepared to be involved in all aspects of club activities, including off-ice classes, competitions and seminars.

We are a large Club with over 360 members and offer programming for PreCanSkate, CanSkate, CanPower, Adult Skate, and Figure Skating – Junior Academy, STARSkate and Competitive programs. PGFSC offers year-round programming including reduced ice during summers.


  • Must be a Skate Canada Coach NCCP Level 1 /Primary StarSkate certified or higher (ability to coach skills and ice dance an asset);
  • Competitive coaching and/or competitive training;
  • Certified in the new Star 1-5 Testing system;
  • Completed new CanSkate Training and knowledge of LTAD;
  • Hold or be willing to obtain First Aid Certificate;
  • Making Ethical Decisions;
  • Have a Police Clearance check, including vulnerable sector check;
  • Dance, flexibility, strength training or conditioning an asset.

Coquitlam Skating Club Director of Operations

The Coquitlam Skating Club is one of the largest skating clubs in the metro Vancouver area. We are a community based skating club that offers a whole range of Skate Canada programming from CanSkate and Power Skating through to adult and elite level figure skating. The club has produced many high level national and international skaters in its almost 60 year history and has over 400 members. We have the privilege of operating out of the modern Poirier Recreation Complex in central Coquitlam where we have access to 3 skating rinks and several different facilities to offer our off ice programs.

We are currently looking for a Director of Operations to oversee the running of the club. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • NCCP National level coaching certification
  • Several years’ experience running a figure skating club
  • A strong working knowledge of Uplifter and strong computer/web skills
  • A strong work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage an experienced and dedicated staff of full time coaches, and the ability to work well and be accountable to a volunteer board of directors.
  • The ability to work flexible hours that equate to roughly 40 hours per week. Programs run 8 to 10 hours a day Monday to Friday and 4 to 6 hours on Saturday.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of athletes, from those new to skating to elite level athletes.

Compensation will be consist of a base salary and be commensurate with experience but will be in the range of $60 to $75 000 per year with the ability to earn more through private instruction. The Cremona Skating Club is currently seeking a CanSkate/StarSkate coach for 2020/21 season. The season runs from October to March. We currently have ice times on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm

The Vegreville Skating Club is seeking a certified skating coach to join our current team and work with our CanSkate, introductory STARskate (STARgroup) and STARSkate Programs for the 2020-2021 season. Requirements: The successful candidate will:


·        Be a registered NCCP CanSkate Coach, with NCCP In-Training Regional STARSkate coach status

·        Able to lead effective warm-ups, group activities, and cool downs

·        Proficient at drawing circuits and coaching CanSkate, STARgroup and STARskate programs including private lessons

·        Familiar with CanSkate and STAR 1-7 assessment techniques

·        Provide a copy of your coach dashboard

Roles & Responsibilities: Looking for a Canskate,  STARgroup & STARskate coach, willing to run our Canskate and StarGroup programs Monday and Friday evenings from 4:30-6:30 and STARSkate private lessons Monday and Friday evenings from 6:30-7:30 with possible Sundays 5:15-7:00 (to be determined).

Skate Humboldt is seeking a Regional In-Training or Certified skating coach to join our coaching team. We offer CanSkate and STARSkate programs from mid-October to early April. We skate Mondays from 3:45 to 8:30 and Fridays from 3:45 to 6:30, however, we may be able to accommodate flexible commitment levels on a case-by-case basis.

Killarney Figure Skating Club is currently looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to fill a coaching position for our Starskate program.

Our club in located in Killarney Manitoba, a small community in southwest Manitoba and currently has around 70 members.

Job description, but not limited to

  • Instruct athletes in the Starskate program
  • Assess star levels
  • Help athletes to prepare for competitive events, tests, and seminars.
  • choreograph routines for skaters along with end of year ice show
  • Follow Skate Canada code of ethics

Time Requirements

  • Season runs from late Sept. to Mid March

MacTier Skating Club is looking to hire an interim coach for 4-6 weeks beginning Wed Sept 9th. Our small club has a yearly average of 25 skaters, in these programs; CanSkate, PowerSkate and StarSkate. Our club offers lessons on Wednesday’s and Friday’s, from 3:30-8 pm at MacTier memorial arena, located at 9 Haig Street, MacTier, Ontario.

The Schreiber – Terrace Bay FSC is currently seeking a club coach for the 2020-21 season.  Our Club is young and energetic and looking forward to growing with a new coach.

Candidates must be a CanSkate Certified coach or higher and registered in good standing with Skate Canada.  If possible, candidates should be StarSkate Certified or working towards certification to support our StarSkate group. We have a large number of registered skaters in our CanSkate program, in addition to a small but dedicated and highly talented group of StarSkaters.
