Qualifications

  • A thorough knowledge of the requirements of the various levels of skating programs.
  • Advanced teaching and coaching skills.

Columbia Valley Skating Club located in beautiful Invermere BC is looking for a skating coach. Invermere is located in the East Kootenays and is a natures playground with hiking, biking, skiing and lakes!

This could be a head coach position or a shared coaching team. We are looking to grow our club and programming.  We would like to offer a full range of Skate Canada programming in our club so we require a minimum Primary STARSKATE level and a CanPower certification would be a bonus. The Smithers Figure Skating Club (SFSC) is a non-profit, volunteer-run sports club.  We offer several programs for all ages and levels of skating.  The club is currently seeking a Director of Skating for the 2019/2020 season and beyond. Main Duties include:

Seeking Coaches for 2019-2020 Season

The Hinton Figure Skating Club is seeking new Coaches. Our club provides Pre- Canskate, Canskate and STARskate programs. With about 80 members, our club strives to provide a fun and caring environment for our members to learn and improve their skating skills.

The successful candidates will:

  • Be or be willing to become Canskate and/or primary STARskate certified.
  • Have a Police Clearance check, including vulnerable sector check.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate
  • Have completed or be willing to complete the Making Ethical Decisions online module.

Time commitment:
Programs are offered Mid-September to Mid-March. Weekend commitment is dependent on Test Days and Competition Days. Currently we are seeking coaches willing to commit between 1-2 days a week of coaching. There is some flexibility on commitment level.

The Ice Palace Figure Skating Club is accepting applications for a coach to teach our CanSkate, Junior Academy, and JumpStart programs. Skate Humboldt is looking to add to our STARSkate coaching team for the 2019-2020 season (Oct 18 to Apr 9). Humboldt is 112km east of Saskatoon and our ice time at Elgar Petersen Arena is on Mondays (4 to 8 p.m.) and Fridays (4 to 6:30 p.m.).

Minimum requirement: regional coach-in-training with STARSkate 1-5 module and testing. The applicant must be willing to instruct both group and private lessons. The successful applicant will also be expected to work closely with Skate Humboldt board members and volunteers on program scheduling, annual ice show, and other events.

CanSkate and StarSkate Coaches Needed For 2019/2020 Season

Caledon Centennial Skating Club (CCSC) is a small, fun, volunteer-run recreational skating club that offers CanSkate and StarSkate programs to children and youth from Caledon and surrounding areas between the months of October and May. We skate out of Inglewood, Ontario on Tuesday evenings and Caledon East on Thursday evenings. Although we only offer one CanSkate session (on Thursdays), we strive to make it the best quality CanSkate program in the region.

CCSC currently has coaching opportunities available in both CanSkate and StarSkate programs. As we are a small club, this is a great opportunity for new coaches in training to gain valuable coaching experience before moving on to larger clubs. Alternatively, it could be a great place for more experienced coaches to pick up additional hours during the week.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and provide instruction for all levels of skaters. Including Private, Semi-Private and / or Group lessons as needed
  • Adhere to Skate Canada rules and guidelines for CanSkate and StarSkate programs

The Port Credit Skating Club is seeking a Part-time Dance Coach to teach programs in Coach and/or Partner up to Gold Level Dances. Our program is run out of the Port Credit Arena in Mississauga, Ontario.

For the 2019/2020 season, we are looking to hire a Dance coach who is outgoing, and innovative, with a love of teaching.
