Sparwood & Elkford Skating Clubs

Situated in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, the Sparwood and Elkford Skating Clubs have teamed up to create an amazing opportunity for a Head Coach and additional coaching staff for the 2018/2019 season and beyond.

Regular season begins in September and runs through March. Together the Clubs offer approximately 25 hours per week during regular season with an increase during 2 additional Fall/Spring Camps. Both Clubs have 60 skaters each, offering Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and StarSkate programs.

Position: Skating Director

Langley Skating Club (LSC) operates out of Langley Sportsplex, George Preston Recreation Centre and Canlan Twin Rings. LSC offers a full range of programs including PreCanSkate, Canskate, StarSkate and Competitive Figure Skating. The Club has around 250 member and is committed to developing skaters primary in the sport of figure skating. The position is available to fill immediately.

Summary

The Director of Skating at LSC works to create, implement and maintain high quality instructional skating programs which are consistent with the needs and interests of LSC and the community of Langley. They will plan, develop, promote, coordinate and implement skating programs under adopted policies and procedures of LSC.

They work to build a strong membership base of LSC. The Director of Skating is an ambassador for LSC, and works to increase the profile of LSC within the community of Langley as well as the skating community in BC. The applicant must be committed to expanding and developing the current skating programs. They also must have the ability to work in an established team coaching environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Provide Leadership and coordination for the LSC programs and coaching staff.
– Develop and coordinate promotion of all Club programs.
– Act as primary Coach Liaison for the Board of Directors
– Prepare and/or revise skating program annually or as the need arises in co- operation with the Coaching Staff and Board of Directors
– Communicate with skaters and parents
– Provide leadership and coordination for special events such as Test Days, Ice Shows, Club Competition, Award Banquet and Guest coach seminars.

The candidate requires the following qualifications:

– NCCP Certified – Management experience
– Current CPR/First Aid Training
– Active member of Skate Canada

Club Coach Position
The Langley Skating Club is looking for a positive, energetic coach who is willing to work within a dynamic and cohesive team approach for skater development. Our programs include PreCanskate, Canskate, Junior Academy, Teen Late Entry, Junior and Senior Starskate as well as off ice training. We offer skating 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) from September to March, 5 days a week (Monday – Friday) from April – June and we also run programming through the summer. We average approximately 3 to 4 hours a day of skating sessions.

The Westlock Figure Skating Club is seeking two Coaches to teach programs in Learn to Skate and CanSkate. The Town of Westlock is located 45 minutes North of St.Albert. Classes will be held in the new, modern Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre.

For the 2018/2019 season, we are looking to hire two coaches who are fun, outgoing, and innovative, who love to skate and love teaching children. The successful Coach should be comfortable working closely and communicating directly with skaters, parents and board members. The skating season runs from October to March and currently classes are held on Monday nights with the possibility of adding Wednesdays to the schedule if enough interest is shown. Both would be early evenings.

Coaches must provide a copy of their Skate Canada Professional Coaching Membership, have valid first aid and CPR training, and be able to provide a criminal welfare check and child welfare check. The Milestone Skating Club is looking to hire a coach for the 2017/2018 season, and beyond. The Schomberg Skating Club is a growing community organization inspiring a love for skating in our small town located in York Region, north of Toronto.  We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers and we pride ourselves on our commitment to offering quality skating instruction to all levels of skaters.

We are currently seeking an NCCP certified coach to join our current coaching staff for the 2018/19 skating season.  Ideally this coach will be an enthusiastic and energetic team player and will be able to communicate well with coaches, skaters and parents.  We are looking for someone with a willingness to be involved in Club activities and events.

Hampton Figure Skating Club is looking for coaches for the 2017-2018 season. We are currently looking for Skate Canada certified coaches in both CanSkate and StarSkate. Ice time is Wednesdays 4-5:30 and Friday 4:30-6:30

We are looking to fill two positions:

• A dedicated and enthusiastic StarSkate NCCP Level 2 (Intermediate StarSkate Provincial Coach/Provincial Coach) to fill the role of as the lead club coach. This coach must be able to communicate well with skaters, parents, board members, and fellow coaches. This position is 2 days per week. Consideration will also be given to a Level 1 (Primary StarSkate/Regional Coach Star) interested in growing with the club.

• An entry level Canskate coach looking to assist the head coach. Preference will be given to those individuals interested in continuing the NCPP coach training and/or CanPowerSkate program. This position would be 1-2 days per week.

Position: Skating Director – Club Coach

 

Prince of Wales Skating Club (POWSC) offers a full range of programs including CanPowerSkating , PreCanSkate, CanSkate, Synchronized Skating, STARSkate and Competitive Figure Skating.  The Club has approximately 1200 members and operates out of St. John’s, NL.  The Prince of Wales Skating Club is seeking an experienced, organized, enthusiastic, highly motivated professional with a passion for skating who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with children, parents, fellow coaches and the club executive to join the team as Skating Director.

 

This new position will work to create, implement and maintain high quality instructional skating programs which are consistent with the needs and interests of POWSC.  The applicant must be committed to expanding and developing the current skating programs.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

– Prepare and/or revise skating program annually (on-ice and off-ice) in co-operation with the Board of Directors and coaching staff

– Attend Board of Directors meetings

– Provide Leadership and coordination for the POWSC programs (CanSkate, Synchronized, STARSkate and Competitive Skating)

– Provide leadership and coordination for special events such as test days, ice shows, competitions, skaters’ banquets and guest coach seminars

– Provide group, semi-private, and private lessons to our STARSkate athletes both on and off the ice  

– Develop and coordinate promotion of all club programs

– Communication with skaters and parents

The candidate shall meet the following qualifications:

– NCCP Certified Level 3 preferred.  Will consider other levels based on experience.

– Valid CPR/First Aid Training

– Skate Canada professional coaching membership – current and in good standing

Ability to work in an established coaching environment
