The Cheam Skating Club is looking to add another dynamic member to our Coaching Team. Our growing club which skates out of both the Prospera Center and Twin Rinks in Chilliwack currently offers Winter, Spring and Summer ice.

Our programs include CanSkate, junior achievers level 1 and 2, Power Skating, Starskate, and Competitive level and off ice classes.

We are seeking a highly energetic and motivated individual who will complement our current team. The successful candidate will be Canskate certified in the new system, NCCP level 1 and 2 certified or higher and willing to take on and build a Competitive Private Student base. Coaches nearly complete with level 2 may be considered depending on experience. Cheam Skating Club operates under a team-coaching approach where all our coaches are under the leadership and supervision of a Director of Skating.

The Vancouver Skating Club (VSC) operates out of 3 sites in Vancouver/North Vancouver, B.C. including the PNE Agrodome, Ice Sports North Shore and Karen Magnussen Arena. The VSC offers a full range of programs including CanSkate, CanPower, Jumpstart, StarSkate and Competitive Figure Skating. The Club has over 550 members and is committed to developing skaters primarily in the sport of figure skating.

Position: Skating Director
The position, commencing in September 2016, will serve VSC and its skating members in overseeing the operations of all Skating Club programs. The applicant must be committed to expanding and developing the current skating programs. Must have the ability to work in an established team coaching environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for the VSC programs and coaching staff
  • Develop and coordinate promotion of all Club programs
  • Act as primary Coach Liaison for the Board of Directors
  • Prepare and/or revise skating program annually or as the need arises in co-operation with the Coaching Staff and Board
  • Communicate with skaters and parents
  • Provide leadership and coordination for special events such as annual Christmas Nutcracker Gala show, Club Competition, Awards Banquet, and Guest Coach Seminars.

The Prince George Figure Skating Club is currently looking for Professional Coaches for the 2016 -2017 season.

Operating out of the Kin Center Arena in Prince George, BC with a membership of approximately 380 skaters participating in Canskate, CanPower, and STARSkate. We operate throughout the year with 24 hours of ice per week during the regular season as well as Spring and Summer schools.

We require a dedicated and enthusiastic team player to join our current coaching staff. This coach must be able to communicate well with skaters, parents, executive members, and fellow coaches.
This coach will ideally be available to participate in a variety of programming, starting with Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate and assisting coaching staff with STARSkate.
Position Requirements:

Grand Forks Figure Skating Club is looking for a coach for the 2016/17 season. There is also potential to coach in the nearby town of Midway BC as they are also looking for a coach. Located 20 minutes apart in the beautiful Elk Valley of southeastern British Columbia, the Elkford FSC and Sparwood SC are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated coach to join their coaching staffs for the 2016-2017 winter season (September to March). Additionally, there are April and August off-season camps in nearby Fernie, BC.

Each club has approximately 60 members (and growing), and between the two, offer 18 hours of ice time in the after school hours, Monday to Friday. There is a strong possibility of extra ice time being added next season. As well, there are two other clubs located nearby which may provide the opportunity for some extra freelance coaching work.

Both clubs utilize a team-coaching environment, and the successful candidate should be organized and able to work and communicate well with other coaches, as well as parents and the club executives. They should be passionate about the sport and staying up-to-date with new Skate Canada programming as well as innovations with technique and technology. They will be coaching all levels of skaters in all disciplines, and while certification beyond NCCP Level 1 is not required, a coach capable of teaching Gold tests in all disciplines will be considered a strong asset.

Both clubs produce mid-season Winter Exhibitions in December, as well as season-ending Ice Shows. Therefore a creative coach with good choreographic abilities is required. As both clubs are expanding and dedicated to providing their members with special events and fun opportunities throughout the season, a coach who has innovative ideas and enduring enthusiasm will be considered a huge asset!

The Burnaby Skating Club’s Coaching Team is currently looking for an enthusiastic, team player to join their coaching team. LANGLEY SKATING CLUB IS HIRING

The Langley Skating Club is rapidly growing in all areas of club programming.
