Maple Ridge Skating Club is accepting applications for a coach to join our team. One of our coaches had to step down due to a family emergency and we are looking for the right candidate to join us.

MRSC offers year round skating for StarSkate, Fall/Winter and Spring seasons for Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and Junior Academy and run our programs six days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction for all levels of skaters, including: private, semi-private and group lessons
  • Evaluate skaters and complete report cards
  • Track personal hours and invoice parents or club

Requirements:

  • Professional Coach in good standing with Skate Canada
  • Fully Certified Level 1 or higher

Qualifications

  • Ability and desire to coach complete skater with level 4 difficulty skills to advance to Olympics

  • Ability to implement constructive feedback when needed although allow skater to work independently at various times
  • Must possess positive communication skills and to be able to work with other coaches at open sessions if needed
  • Willingness to expand knowledge with continuing education and ISU requirements for higher GOEs
  • Highly motivated and professional, committed to skater’s development and love of learning new skills and challenges

The Prince Rupert Skating Club is accepting applications for the position of Club Professional for the 2020/2021 season. Successful applicants must be a NCCP Regional Coach in training or higher for this position.

The PRSC is located on the west coast of British Columbia. We are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and coastal rain forest and near coastal mountains and skiing opportunities. There is plenty to do when you are not on the ice.

We are a young Club and currently offer Learn to Skate programs for skaters 3 to 13 yrs. and Star 1 and higher. There is potential to run Powerskating, Adult programs and dryland training. There is also opportunity to have private students with lessons. This is a 10-month wage of $1400.00. The Club currently have 13 hours of ice time per week.

Job Description:

The Smithers Figure Skating Club (SFSC) is a non-profit, volunteer-run sports club.  We offer several programs for all ages and levels of skating.  The club is currently seeking a Director of Skating for the 2019/2020 season and beyond. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of all Skating Club Programs.

Main Duties include:

  • Provide leadership, supervision and coordination for programs and coaching staff
  • Develop and implement schedules and programs
  • Implement training tactics and practice sessions
  • Coaching on all levels, for both teams and individual athletes
  • Assess demand and plan appropriate training
  • Analyze performance of athletes and assess areas in need of additional coaching on both a personal and team level
  • Strategize development training for athletes and coaches
  • Act as primary liaison for the Board of Directors
  • Assist in daily operations and management of the club

Employment Requirements:

  • 2 to 3 years of coaching experience
  • NCCP Level 1 is preferred

Job description: The Whistler Skating Club is looking for a qualified and experienced Coach for the 2019/2020 skating season. Our Club offers approximately 13 hours of ice per week from September to Mid May. The Whistler Skating Club serves approximately 120 skaters through a variety of programs including Off Ice classes, CanSkate, and Star levels. We are seeking an experienced, organized, compassionate, highly motivated professional with a passion for skating who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.

The interested Candidate should be available to teach strong fundamentals to beginning and developing skaters. The Candidate should be familiar and have experience coaching within the new Star system.

Skills and attributes required are:

  1. Canskate Certified in the new System, Certified in the New Star 1-5 Testing System, minimum Regional Coach Certified (Level 1)

Durham Skating Academy is a newly established Skating School serving the Ajax community and surrounding Durham region.

Seeking Skate Canada Professional Coaches in good standing with a Club Coach: CanSkate In-Training status or higher for our Spring Summer 2020 programs.

Our CanSkate sessions run Tuesday and Thursdays during the Summer.

Qualifications:

  • Registered: To be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach, full payment is required of all registration fees and insurance premiums as determined annually by Skate Canada.
  • In Good Standing: To be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing, the following is required:
    • Must hold a valid first aid certificate
    • Screening must be done through the company approved by Skate Canada. Following review of the results of this screening, the status must show as “Clear” in the Skate Canada profile of the coach.
    • Must hold a NCCP status of Club Coach In-training or higher
    • NCCP certified coaches must maintain a renewed NCCP certification status as per the Coaching Association of Canada’s (CAC) Maintenance of Certification Policy
    • Have agreed to the Skate Canada Code of Ethics
    • Completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training. A coach must be re-certified in this training every 3 years
