The Seaport Skaters club of Botwood is looking for a Skate Canada NCCP Certified Primary STARSkate Coach (NCCP Level 1) or preferably higher to join our coaching team. Our season runs from the beginning of October (or before) to mid or late April each year. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated coach who is confident and able to communicate and work professionally with skaters of all ages and levels, parents, other coaches and executive. Our club has approximately 120 CanSkaters, STARSkaters & Competitive skaters. You would be responsible for group and private lesson coaching and development in all disciplines – Freeskate, Dance, Interpretive, and Skills. You would also be instrumental in the choreography and planning of an annual ice show.

We have just this past season offered CanPowerSkate so if your qualifications include that as well that’s great! It isn’t imperative as another of our coaches has it as well, but there’s room for both as our Minor Hockey association is very excited about the program with 48 joining this first season (which brings the club’s number up to 168) and more coming on board for next season.

We require someone for at least 18 hours a week (4 days a week). There is also a potential for sharing hours with our existing coaches (who both also have full time careers) if too many hours for you, we are very flexible. There is also a possibility of other clubs in the area looking for a coach, one just 15 minutes away and the other 45 minutes away. Please email with any questions you may have for us or our existing coaches who are very willing to help with the hiring process.

Botwood is a small (3000 people), close knit, beautiful, historic community located in Central Newfoundland at the base of the beautiful Bay of Exploits which is well known for its exceptional boating opportunity. We also now have a newly renovated arena.
