(June 4, 2008)

Last Tuesday, Karen Anderlini had no idea that she would be the first in the world to win tickets to a gold medal figure skating event at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

"I scratched the figure skates and thought, 'What is that?' and turned it over and started reading, and was like 'No way,'" she said.

Anderlini won the tickets by scratching a scratch-and-win ticket that was given to her and her husband by friends in April.

She was presented with the tickets last week by her favourite figure skater, Olympian and former World Champion Victor Kraatz at the Burnaby 8 Rinks.

Not only, did she pick up a pair of tickets to a figure skating gold medal event she also won $1,000 in cash. Anderlini has chosen to bring her husband along with her to the event.

Congratulations Karen!
