2008 ISU World Figure Skating Champion Jeff Buttle took home two awards at the 40th annual House of Kin Sports Celebrity Dinner and Awards night on June 11, 2008. He won the Elite Male Amateur Athlete of the Year and the Fan Choice Award. The awards night was hosted by the Caruso Club in Sudbury, Ont.

Buttle won the Fan Choice Award with 146,221 votes, winning the race by 59 per cent. Requirements for the Fan Choice Award is that the athlete should have been proactive, excelled with success in 2008 and someone that has performed to the best of their ability.  Buttle was also a nominee in 2007 but lost out to the Sudbury Wolves hockey team. 

This is not the first time Buttle has been involved with the House of Kin Awards Night.  Buttle won the Amateur Male Athlete of the Year in 2002 and 1998 and was a nominee in 2003. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 he was also a nominee for the Professional Sports Person of the Year.
