(April 8, 2009) – The 2009 HomeSense National STARSkate Championships and 2009 Skate Canada Adult Figure Skating Championships ended over the weekend with several new skating titles given out.

The event took place at the Willie O’Ree Place from April 1-5, 2009.

Other notable winners at this event were the HomeSense Personal Best Awards. The HomeSense Personal best Awards are awarded to skaters that showcased excellent performances. The awards where given out by HomeSense representative, Dana Scott, Store Manager, Winners Fredericton.

The Section Trophy winner was the Western Ontario Section. The Section Trophy is awarded to one of Skate Canada’s 13 sections that have the best-placed team with the highest number of points.

The Adult Spirit Winner is 73-year-old Pat Noddin of the Riverview FSC in New Brunswick. Pat was the gold medalist in Bronze Women Free IV, bronze medalist in the Silver Women Interpretive IV and was fourth place in the Open Couples Interpretive with David Warman. She also volunteered at the event.

This event would have not been possible without the help from all the volunteers, coaches, judges, parents and athletes all contributing to make five days of fantastic skating!
