(April 28, 2008)

So many people are involved in running Skate Canada, the largest figure skating governing body in the world, but an operation of this size would not be possible without the ongoing support of volunteers. Skate Canada is lucky to have an estimated 10, 000 volunteers that are involved in skating activities and operations across the country.

As Canada celebrates National Volunteer Week, April 27 – May 3, Skate Canada would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to every single one of its volunteers.

There are so many volunteers involved with Skate Canada who offer their time, energy and skills to this great sport.  Their crucial contribution makes it possible for thousands of children and adults nationwide to participate in figure skating each year.

Thank you again for your commitment and dedication to the sport. We hope that you will continue to find fulfillment and happiness in what you do, and that you will continue to lend a helping hand in the future.
