The following Canadians earned new qualifications at the seminar Frankfurt Seminar 2006:

  • Rock Lemay (Orleans, Ont.) – ISU Technical Specialist – Ice Dance
  • Bruno Marcotte (Vancouver) – ISU Technical Specialist – Pairs & Singles
  • Shae Zukiwsky (Vancouver) – ISU Technical Specialist – Ice Dance
  • Susan Heffernan (Roberts Creek, B.C.) – ISU Technical Controller – Singles; International Technical Controller – Pairs
  • Karen Robertson (Chelsea, Que.) – ISU Technical Controller – Synchronized Skating

Lemay, Marcotte and Zukiwsky are all former members of the Skate Canada national team.

Other Canadians on-site in Frankfurt who assisted in the training sessions included ISU Vice President and former Skate Canada Director General David Dore, Louis Stong, Skate Canada Director of Skating Development, Ted Barton, Executive Director of Skate Canada – British Columbia/Yukon, Ann Shaw, a former member of the ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee, Marie Bowness, ISU Technical Specialist in Ice Dance, Michael Slipchuk, ISU Technical Specialist in Singles, Joanne Shaw, member of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee, and Cathy Dalton, member of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee.

“The Canadians were very well represented as leaders in the training of technical specialists and controllers. The seminar was very well received by participants and extremely successful in getting more technical specialists and controllers for the ISU Judging System. The candidates from Canada were successful in their examinations,” said Joanne Shaw.
