Blackfalds Figure Skating Club

About Us:
The Blackfalds Figure Skating Club is currently seeking a coach to join our club. Blackfalds is located in Central Alberta, very close to Red Deer. This small, growing, but dynamic club offers a variety of professionally coached programs including Preschool, CanSkate, PreSTARskate and STARSkate. Our club is focussed on recreational skating and is committed to providing a fun yet challenging environment that will provide skaters with enjoyment, exercise and personal skill achievement. Morris and District Skating Club

Lake Superior Figure Skating Club

About Us:

Over the last 3 years, the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club has been expanding programming and enrolment in all skating programs and is seeking a Skate Canada Certified Professional Coach to join their coaching team. The LSFSC is based out of the John Rhodes Community Centre in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie, Northern Ontario.

The club has strong enrolment in their feeder programs, offering 3 CanSkate sessions regularly throughout the season. The STARSkate program offers group and private lessons to over 50 recreational and competitive skaters. On average, the club programs approximately 20 hours of on-ice per week and also runs an off-ice program. For interested coaches, there are also opportunities for increasing ice-time through the rental of daytime ice.

The LSFSC season runs from September-April, and July.

The following requirements are needed:

The successful candidate will be a level 3 coach or will be committed toward achieving level 3 certification within a reasonable time frame.

National and/or international experience will be an asset.

The successful candidate must be able to coach mornings, evenings and weekends as well as the summer program in July.

All applicants must have a current First Aid and an up-to-date Skate Canada Member status. We are looking for an individual who is professional both on and off the ice and enjoys working with skaters of all ages and skill levels.

Our season runs September to March with 2 CanSkate sessions (Monday nights and Saturday) and 3 STARSkate sessions (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) nights. We currently have ice scheduled for Monday 4pm to 8pm, Wednesday 5pm to 7pm, Friday 5pm to 7pm and Saturday 11am to 1pm. This is subject to approval by the 2014-2015 Club Board of Directors.
