A group of six Canadian adult figure skaters are in Villard-de-Lans, France, to compete in the 10th Mountain Cup, an invitational Adult Open Competition held June 5-8, 2008.

  • Raye Ryan (Squamish, B.C.) will compete in Bronze Figures, Bronze Freeskate and Bronze Interpretive;
  • Sonja Gougeon (St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Qué.) will compete in the Masters Ladies 2 Freeskate;
  • Ice dancers Diana Barkley (Vancouver, B.C.) and Geoff Squires (Langley, B.C.) will compete in the Gold Dance;
  • Jan Calnan (Greely, Ont.) will compete in the Masters Figures, Masters Ladies 3 Freeskate and Masters Ladies Interpretive;
  • Stéphane Vachon (Montréal, Qué.) will compete in the Masters Figures, Masters Men 3 Freeskate, Masters Men Interpretive;
  • Jan Calnan (Greely, Ont.) and Stéphane Vachon (Montréal, Qué.) will compete int Masters Pairs and Interpretive Pairs.

All six figure skaters  recently  competed in the 2008 International Skating Union (ISU) International Adult Figure Skating Competition held May 29 – June 1 in Oberstdorf, Germany. Click here to view their results.

The Mountain Cup is organized by the Association Sportive et Culturelle de Pessac Alouette and the local organizing committee in Villard as an interclub competition according to the rules of the French Figure Skating Federation FFSG.
