Skate Canada staff members participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike Ride in Ottawa on June 24 and raised $2, 440, adding to Ottawa’s grand total of $30,571.
The big bike is designed for up to 30 bikers and the event took place at the Rideau Carleton Racetrack in Ottawa. Many employees at Skate Canada have a strong personal connection to the Heart and Stroke Foundation either through a personal experience or that of a friend or family member. The Big Bike was a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for Heart and Stroke research while building great team relationships and having a good time!
Between April and September 2008, the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike will be making its way along high-profile routes through more than 200 communities across nine provinces, in an effort to raise funds for life-saving heart and stroke research.
Congratulations to everyone that participated!
