(January 8, 2009) – There is nothing more special than sharing with others.  Sometimes we aren’t sure what the best way to do this is, so luckily an opportunity like the one SaskEnergy has come up appears!

This month, the Skate Canada School Program presented by SaskEnergy at the BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships will work with local schools in Saskatoon to collect used skates.  These skates will be counted and redistributed to inner city schools and sports programs in Saskatoon, giving more and more students the opportunity to skate!  As the sponsor of this program SaskEnergy wanted to make sure kids who may not have the opportunity to skate can now get out and experience the sport.

The possibilities are big with this program and the race to see which school will donate the greatest number of skates is on!  The school which brings in the greatest number of skates will receive a pizza day from SaskEnergy and tickets to the 2009 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships.  The cut off date for bringing in skates is January 14 and the contest winner will be announced on the 15th during the school program at the Credit Union Centre.

They may be old skates, but they will surely create new and very special memories for their new owners.
