It was a strong finish for both Canadian teams at the 2007 World Challenge Cup for Juniors.

Les Suprêmes Junior and Gold Ice Junior finished second and fourth overall, respectively, in what was a very exciting event.

Les Suprêmes Junior, who stood second after the short program, skated a strong and creative free program to place third in the free skate and win the silver medal with a total score of 159.22.

After placing eighth in the short program, Gold Ice Junior came back in the free skate and placed first in that portion of the event, earning a total score of 149.02 and moving the team up to fourth overall.

Finland's Team Fintastic, who was first in the short program, placed second to Gold Ice Junior in the free skate but won the gold medal with a total of 162.08 points.

Capturing the bronze medal were Americans Chicago Jazz, who were awarded a total score of 150.32.

Skate Canada congratulates both Les Suprêmes Junior and Gold Ice Junior on their performances this weekend.

The next synchronized skating event on the calendar is the 2007 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships, which will be held March 30 - 31 in London, Ont.
