Skate Canada’s CEO and former national team member William Thompson, and Skate Canada’s High Performance Director and former Canadian champion Mike Slipchuk, have joined Brian Orser’s team, the Silver’s Bullets, in the 2007 Pride and Remembrance Run. The team will be running in honour of former Canadian ice dancer Rob McCall. The current team lineup for Silver's Bullets is: Brian Orser, Patti Cooke, Jason Forbes, John Rait, Marcus Christiansen, Matt Hickey, Jeff Buttle, Michael Shinniman, David Wilson, Chris Mabee, Astrid Shrubb and Joey Russell.

This year’s run will honour Canadian ice dancer Rob McCall on Thursday, June 21st, when his name will be added to the AIDS Memorial located at the 519 Church Street Community Centre. McCall died in 1991.

Skate Canada’s sponsor BMO Financial Group is also involved in this event as the Platinum sponsor of the 12th Annual Pride and Remembrance Run, which will be held on Saturday June 23 in Toronto.

The Skate Canada national office is also getting behind the Silver’s Bullets team by organizing two BBQ lunches for staff at the national office on Shefford Road in Ottawa. The total proceeds from these two BBQs will go to the Silver's Bullets team.

Beneficiaries of the 2007 “Pride and Remembrance Run” are the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation and the Triangle Program of the Toronto District School Board. Anyone interested in donating for the cause can go to www.priderun.org and pledge safely and securely by clicking on the ‘Pledge a Runner’ link and select the name of the runner you wish to support.
