Skating fans will get the chance to see ice dancers Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon in competition for at least another year.

The four-time Canadian Ice Dance Champions and 2006 world silver medallists announced that they will continue to compete through the 2006-2007 season, and also revealed their plan to continue competing in the eligible ranks until the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Vancouver.

“Skating at the Olympics in Vancouver would be an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Dubreuil.

Dubreuil and Lauzon made the announcement at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club, where they have been working on new programs for the upcoming season with their choreographer, David Wilson.

Wilson choreographed Dubreuil and Lauzon’s beautiful Somewhere in Time free dance from last season.

“I think what we experienced with Somewhere in Time is just the beginning in a series of masterpieces that we’ll produce with him,” said Dubreuil.

Dubreuil and Lauzon will return to their training base of Lyon, France, where they are coached by Muriel Boucher-Zazoui.
